We are delighted to welcome Jessica A. Richardson, APRN, C.N.P., M.S.N., as our new president. Jessica is a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner who graduated from Concordia University in 2014. She completed her undergraduate studies at Augsburg and earned her associate degree from RCTC.
Jessica has dedicated her career to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, since July 2004. Her nursing background spans General Medical, Pulmonary Medicine, and Medical ICU, with experience as an ERT/RRT nurse.
Throughout her career, Jessica has been deeply involved in medical missions, both locally and internationally, in places like Haiti and Nicaragua. These experiences inspired her to pursue advanced practice nursing, choosing the Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner path to provide holistic, compassionate care to individuals from all backgrounds.
Jessica continues to volunteer as a nurse practitioner whenever opportunities arise, including at the Salvation Army Good Samaritan Clinic since 2014. She has held various positions, including General Internal Medicine, Vascular Interventional Radiology, and currently, Primary Care - Family Medicine. Additionally, she “moonlights” at Mayo Clinic Health System’s Primary Care Today clinics and occasionally works weekends at Mayo Clinic Rochester Express Care.
In her current role, Jessica works with Family Medicine residents, medical students, psychiatry residents, nurse practitioner, and PA students. She is passionate about providing full-spectrum care to all individuals and enjoys her specialty practice in providing medication for opioid use disorder (Suboxone) within primary care.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her three children, puppy, family, and friends. She is a volunteer Ski Patroller and loves traveling, with a goal to visit every continent.
Jessica has been an active member of ASMNP for several years, enjoying networking, advancing her clinical knowledge, and building our community of local nurse practitioners. She looks forward to growing our group and fostering new friendships and professional relationships.
Please join us in welcoming Jessica to her new role as president!
