Federal Advisory Committees Announce Meetings on Child Vaccinations

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) announced meetings to be held on June 14 and June 15. On June 14, under Topic I, the committee will meet in open session to discuss amending the emergency use authorization (EUA) of the Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccine to include the administration of the primary series to children and adolescents 6-17 years of age. On June 15, under Topic II, the committee will meet in open session to discuss amending the EUA of the Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccine to include the administration of the primary series to infants and children 6 months through 5 years of age and also to discuss amending the EUA of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 mRNA vaccine to include the administration of the primary series to infants and children 6 months through 4 years of age. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has announced meetings which will be held on June 17 and June 18.
