Nurse Practitioners from all over the country met at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Annual Health Policy Conference this weekend in Washington DC.  Nurse Practitioners heard from advocacy groups and leaders about upcoming initiatives to engage and inspire change within our own communities.

It is a busy time at the Capitol.  We, as members of the ASMNP are fortunate to have the Minnesota Nurse Practitioner association who hear from Minnesota Nurse Practitioners (MNNP) about their important work in improving the quality, access to care that Nurse Practitioners offer.  If you are not already, please consider becoming a membership of MNNP to support all Minnesota Nurse Practitioners at the State level.   More information here: https://mnnp.enpnetwork.com/.

Advocacy work is part of our role as a Nurse Practitioner and, the MNNP and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) makes it easy to contact your representatives.  Membership information here: https://www.aanp.org/membership.   AANP has an advocacy center that, with entering your zip code will populate your representative for ease of communication.  Check it out here: https://www.aanp.org/advocacy

Federally, there continues to be barriers to our Nurse Practitioner practice that, reduces access to care for our populations.  We encourage you to explore these opportunities to increase our voices.  Take a stand for the future of the NP role and get involved today!
