Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospice and Palliative Medicine Interprofessional Fellowship

Posted almost 3 years ago by Marci Newcome

The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences has launched a 12-month postgraduate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospice and Palliative at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Through an interprofessional training structure, two advanced practice clinician fellows will join three physician co-fellows to form a single fellowship class. With this structure, fellows gain a deeper understanding of the roles of the interdisciplinary team, knowledge that is integral to the care of complex patients within the hospice and palliative medicine population.

Co-fellows will attend frequent educational and didactic sessions together, collaborate with fellows across all three Mayo Clinic sites, as well as complete a research protocol and quality improvement project as a fellowship class. Fellows will complete the same clinical rotations with objectives tailored to each discipline’s scope of practice.

Applications open November 1, interviews will begin January 21. Fellowship will begin July 1, 2022.

Additional details regarding the fellowship can be found on the program website.
