On Friday, December 18, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for a second COVID-19 vaccine. On Sunday, December 20, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) approved an interim recommendation on the use of this approved vaccine.
